Shopping...

Hey Guys,

It's Daisy and I may have done a tiny bit of shopping. I love everything that I've bought today and surprisingly I bought everything myself instead of begging my mother for money; I thought I'd show you everything which I bought but I'm not going to do a review on anything until I've used them for a long time, so I'll just link everything to websites (if they have one) so you can have a proper look yourself.

The first shop I rushed to was Primark before it got too busy; I would suggest making a list of things you'd like to buy and go to Primark first because you'll no doubt find what you want for a much cheaper price and also find some weird and wonderful thing you never thought you'd needed.

Dark Grey Marl Crop T-shirt ('My crop boyfriend tee') - £3.00

Black Pleated Maxi Skirt - £12.00

Daisy Dress - £13.00

The next shop I went to was Superdrug where they're doing a 3 for 2 offer on most make-up brands.

Barry M: Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint - £3.99 (Dragon Fruit 11, Greenberry 12, Papaya 13)

Sleek: True Colour Lipstick Matte - £4.99 (Papaya Punch 782)

Veet: In-Shower Hair Removal Cream - £4.66

Next I went to Boots.

Tangle Teezer Orange - £10.99

Biore: Deep Cleansing Pore Strips - £5.99

Finally I went to Lush to buy some nice bath bombs.

Creamy Candy Bubble Bar - £2.50

Butterball Bath Bomb - £2.45

Song of the week

Hey Guys,

It's Daisy and obviously it's my turn to pick 'Song of the week' but unfortunately I couldn't really find a song that I've really been obsessed with, so I went through my playlist and just picked a random song.

I choose the song 'Awkward' by San Cisco and although the song is about breaking up (or something along those lines) it's surprisingly upbeat. San Cisco is an Australian four-piece indie pop band that formed in 2009, under the original name of King George, in Fremantle, Western Australia. They've made other songs such as; 'Beach', 'Rocket Ship' and 'Fred Astaire'.

One website I really love...

Hey Guys,

It's Holly here, just a quick post to share with you a website I love. It is called ' I Waste So Much Time' and I really do waste so much time on it!

It is full of hilarious and awesome pictures and is updated everyday, you can either go through the website from the most recent posts backwards, see the most popular posts, randomise the posts or search for posts to do with a particular topic.

Underneath each post are 3 buttons which allow you to vote that the picture is either Awesome , What the What? or Boring. Alongside these buttons it tells you how many people think each picture is either Awesome , What the What? or Boring, I think it is good how the website allows people to voice their opinions in this way. You can also comment on a picture, like it on Facebook, blog it on tumblr. , post it on Twitter or share it on Reddit or stumbleupon.

How to: Dip Dye Hair

Hey Guys,

It's Daisy, yesterday night I dip dyed my hair turquoise and I love it so much I just had to share it with you. Last year both Holly and I dip dyed our hair; Holly was originally going to bleach her's and add a colour but she liked it so much bleached she didn't, while I dyed mine a dark purple but unfortunately it faded into a brown.

This time I did a bit more research than just buying some dye and winging it; I order 'Le Riche, Direction - Turquoise' from Amazon, I order 2 tubs for £6.50 as 1 tub was £4.00 and it made sense to buy the 2 because it's the same cost as dyes from 'L'oreal' and 'Garnier' but I get twice as much. Anyway, I ordered the turquoise because it complimented my complexion better than the other colours. I also order a pack of 3 hair tint brushes and a bowl but I was disappointed by Amazon because it only arrived today (a week later than the dye) and I was too impatient to wait for them so I did it with a comb, but in the future I would recommend to everybody to get at least some tint brushes because you can easily use a plastic bowl for mixing.

The colour you see on the tub is what the dye looks like inside, it's a very intense, dark blue but it comes out so much lighter so don't panic if you've got dye that looks dark. I would strongly recommend that if you're planning on dying your hair go to a professional hair dressers unless you don't mind that you might mess up, but here's how I dyed my hair. If you plan on diluting the dye use white conditioner and mix into a bowl, you should apply the diluted solution on bleached hair for the best results, especially if you have dark hair. Wear some scruffy clothes because you will get dye on them and rub your hands in olive oil so they can't get stained; I then dipped by comb into the tub and brushed the dye it into the tips of my hair (you can do the same with the brushes) make sure you dye both sides of your hair so there isn't any natural hair showing. Finally I dipped my fingers into the dye for extra colour and rubbed it in. After I had to wait 15 minutes, then wash the colour out with warm water until it ran clear; but straight after the dying process I wrapped my hair in cling film which kept the hair hotter for the dye to work better.

This is my end result.

I hope this has given you some good tips if you're plan on dying your hair and I would recommend using 'Directions' because I've been really impressed and they have such a wide range of colours.
Over the holiday I'll be topping up the colour so it doesn't fade but I obviously can't keep my hair like this for school so I'll be researching ways of how to get rid of the colour without going to the hairdressers because I really hate going, and I'll post how I did it for you guys.

Song Of The Week

Hey Guys,

I (Holly) haven't been around much recently and Daisy has done a great job looking after the blog by herself. But I am back now so here is the song of the week, I have chosen the song 'For the Girl' by the Fratellis. It is one of their older songs but as I recently purchased the album 'Costello Music' which the song is from, I have become hooked once again.

Clothbound Classics

Hey Guys,

While in Waterstones with Holly and our friends last weekend we noticed these really pretty books in the 'Classics' section and as we awed over them we noticed that they were quite pricey. Being and big fan of Peter Pan, Alice and Fairy tales in general I picked them up to notice they were around £12-15 per book.

The real reason I liked them so much was because I thought about how amazing my bookshelf would look with all these beautiful spines showing, so later when I got home I googled the Alice book I found at Waterstones which lead me to Amazon where I found such a range of these gorgeous books under the name Clothbound Classics. While on Amazon I found Wordsworth Classics which are classic books such as Romeo and Juliet for only £1.99; I've order Alice and have not been dissapointed, the book is such good quality and barely cost a thing while in Waterstones I probably would have had to pay £5.

These books look so amazing and I can't wait to order some and I know Holly's feels the same, all books should look this cool so I hope you go and check them out.

Jackfield tile museum

Hey Guys,

Today I went to the Jackfield Tile museum in Ironbridge for my art GCSE and Holly went later last week, although this was for our Art it was also for a fun day out because nearing the end of the school year our teachers plan 'exciting' day outs to celebrate all the hard work we'd done that year.

To create our tile, we traced the picture we wanted to create on top of carbon paper which transferred onto the four tiles we were making; using clay we created a tube lining which acted as our guide lines for where our glaze would be placed.
Then using the glazing chart to figure out what colour glazes we needed for our design we dabbed the glaze onto the tiles, we won't know what they'll look like once they're finished in the kiln until September when we go back to school  and when we get them back we'll post a picture of them.

It was a lovely day out which was made better by my friends and I can't wait to see the final product.

Song of the week

Hey Guys,

The song I've chosen is called 'Little Talks' by Of Monsters and Men which is actually an old song and came out in 2011. Of Monsters and Men is a six-piece, English-language, indie folk/pop band from Iceland, formed in 2010. The music video is very strange but it's still a fantastic song.

Book Review: Looking for Alaska

Hey Guys,

I have just finished reading 'Looking for Alaska' by John Green it only took me a day and a half to read! 'The Fault in our Stars' was absolutely brilliant so I had such high expectations for this book and I wasn't disappointed. This is one of those book that you really want to become a film and although I've not heard/seen anything about a film being made, 'The Fault in our Stars' should be becoming a film and they start shooting for it this August, I'm not sure how true this is so have a look for yourself here.

"Alaska Young. Gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, screwed up - and utterly fascinating. Miles Halter could not be more in love with her. But when tragedy strikes, Miles discovers the value and the pain of living and loving unconditionally."

The book is about Miles Halter, his friend Chip and Alaska Young; I'm going to reveal everything that happens so if you don't want to know stop reading.

The first part of the book talks the 136 days Before it and the second part is about the 136 days After it ; Miles, nickname Pudge, goes to a new school where we learn that he loves 'last words', he reads loads of biography's of writers or historical figures to learn their last words.
Miles becomes friends with his roommate called Chip, nickname Colonel, who introduces him to his friend Alaska, instantly Miles falls in love with Alaska who unfortunately has a boyfriend called Jake. The 136 days Before it describes what they did at school which was mainly pranking the Weekday Warriors (people who only board for the weekdays and go home at the weekend), drinking and smoking. Miles continues to fall for Alaska no matter how horrible and moody she can be at times. The night Before it Alaska freaks out saying she has to leave and even though she's drunk and in not fit state to drive Miles and Chip still let her go.
The day After it Miles and Chip attend an assemble where their headmaster delivers terrible news (the it), Alaska had been in a terrible car crash and has died. Miles dwells on the fact he didn't know Alaska's last words and was unsure on how or why she died; Miles and Chip discover Alaska drove into a police car and the After section of the book is about them trying to figure out why Alaska drove into that car, whether it was meant to be suicide or an accident and why she was so worked up on the night. There are many conclusions on what Alaska did and how Miles and Chip dealt with their loss, all I'll say about the ending without giving anything away is that you'll be satisfied with the answer and you won't be stuck wondering what could have happened.

It is a sad story and I'm embarrassed to admit that I did cry a lot but it is very well written and I'm going to buy Green's other books. I really hope this has intrigued you to buy 'Looking for Alaska' which can be found on Amazon or in Waterstones.

Quick update

Hey Guys,

It's Daisy, Holly is on Battlefields which is a history school trip about war and things; so she'll be visiting Belgium and France for next couple of days which is super exciting and I'm sure she'll do a big post on it! I'll be in charge of Haisy until Wednesday, which is scary because this is the longest Holly's ever left me with proper responsibilities, so I hope you enjoy.

Make-up Haul

Hey Guys,

It's Daisy, a couple of weeks ago I went shopping; the main purpose of the shopping trip was to buy some rough tops and jeans for my geography trip but i've recently been thinking about how i'd like to get back into make-up. I thought i'd buy a little 'starter' kit and build my collection from there, here's what I bought from Boots and my mini reviews.

The only thing i've been impressed with is the Rimmel 'Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara'. I only bought this because the advert really impressed me, the Rimmel adverts are really annoying because they're constantly on before my favorite programs and Rimmel have 5 new products all out at the same time, anyway the narrator said that "you can layer it up and has no clumps", this is a lot like any other mascara but for some reason this really impressed me and although I haven't worn this very much I can't fault it at all.

The other products I bought were: Rimmel Match Perfection Powder which I bought in transparent (the lightest colour) because I love being so pale even though I have actually tanned, it took me at least an hour to realise how to open it and I haven't used it much but so far so good; Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer again I bough the lightest colour but that was mainly because I have really dark circles underneath my eyes so naturally I thought the lightest colour would cover them up better but unfortunately it didn't work, however if I bought the right colour for me I'm sure it would have worked fine as I've heard wonderful review about the Wake Me Up foundation

I next bought 2 Rimmel Soft Kajal eyeliners (in brown and black) for my waterline because i'm rubbish at applying it to my lids, but because I bought the soft ones and not the waterproof they won't take to my waterline and I'm struggling using them, next time I would consider buying the waterproof version; finally make-up wise I bought 2 Natural Collection lipsticks but unfortunately I can't find on the boots website, I would really like some coral lipsticks but I wasn't willing to pay £5.00 for a lipstick at Maybelline or Rimmel so I wondered on over to the Natural Collection stand to look at their cheap lipsticks, I found the closest coral colour I could find which was 'Sorbet' and a dark nude colour in 'Apple Blossom' for £1.99, I would not recommend these lipsticks because they don't apply creamy or smoothly onto the lip at all, you can see the lipstick marks across your lips and
when you rubs your lips together you can feel horrible little bits in them which isn't a nice feeling. Next time I would definitely pay extra for a lipstick and I'm considering buying the Collection 2000 Lasting Colour Lipstick because the reviews give a brilliant impression, they're cheap (£2.99) and the packaging looks nice which is always important and soon the Maybelline Baby Lips will be in the UK which i'm looking forward to because they're perfect for school as they moisturise your lips as well as give a hint of colour and I've signed up for an email as soon as they're out.

I have also bought a few clothes/accessories which I will post about very soon.

Song Of The Week

Hey Guys,

Sorry it is late but it is my (Holly) turn to chose the song of the week this week. The song I have chosen is 'Everything Has Changed' and it is by Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. It is a lovely song with an adorable (if not slightly cheesy) video which features Mini Ed and Mini Taylor. I don't normally go for songs like this but when I heard it on the radio I loved it and I hope you will too.
