Song of the week

Hey Guys,
Very annoyingly I don't know the name of this song, but it's so cute and it's the background music for somebody's YouTube video.

Favourite Outfits from Brit Awards 2014

Hey Guys,
So I love the Brit Awards but unfortunately this year I was unable to watch it because I was in Birmingham watching the Ukulele Orchestra Of GB, which was great. I have watched a few clips of performances from the night and I know who won which award, I was so happy that Lorde and David Bowie won awards!
One thing I love about the Brits is the clothes and the red carpet, so I thought I would share with you my favourite outfits from this years ceremony...

First up is Fearne Cotton, she opted for a quirky silver dress and accessories. Now this could be seen as a bit risky, I mean silver doesn't suit many people, but this risk definitely paid off on her part; she looked stunning. The sheer covering on the top half of the dress takes it from party dress to sophisticated style and her little rectangular bag is really cute, bringing us back to Fearne's fun style.

Next I chose Chloe Howl. Her outfit was simple, with no accessories and this can sometimes make an outfit look a bit bland. But there is no doubt in my mind that this look really worked for Chloe. I think there is a sense of readiness to party about this all black outfit, the style of dress reflects that of a 1920's flapper girl, but has a modern twist, which I really loved. Teamed with those bulky black shoes this is a really strong look.
Lastly was the surprise of Kate Moss, attending to collect David Bowie's Award. She sported one of Bowie's Ziggy Stardust costumes from the 1970's and she looked great. By having the rest of her outfit in black, black killer heels, tights and bracelet, Kate let the amazing costume stand out the way it did when Bowie himself wore it. She really rocked that look, I'm sure Bowie was very pleased with both her outfit and how well she delivered his acceptance speech.

There were many more amazing outfits at the Brits but unfortunately I should be revising so don't have time to share them all with you. These three outfits really stood out to me and I am glad I have had a chance to share them with you.

Song Of The Week

Hey Guys,
I am taking a break from revising to bring you my Song Of The Week. I have chosen 'Full Circle' by Half Moon Run because it is really relaxing. I first heard this song on Radio 1, they have been playing it quite a lot recently, it is so good though so I don't blame them. 'Full Circle' is from the album 'Dark Eyes' and the official video is really beautiful, why not check it out?

Mocks

Hey Guys,
The stress of mocks are upon us, so we're revising very hard - Holly more than Daisy.

We're most likely only going to post during our break or through procrastination.
Wish us luck and we'll post as often as we can.

Sighh Designs: Review

Hey Guys,
Image of Crazy Bus Lady Case
I have done a previous post on Sigh Designs and yesterday the phone case I ordered arrived. I was always hesitant to order a case because they're £14 but I finally order one I could really relate to.

I ordered the 'Crazy Bus Lady' case, and after eyeing up Vadasz's designs for months I was excited to try it out; however I am very disappointed.
I'll start with my only positive. I really love the colours, font and message. Vadasz's has put a lot of time and effort into making such a wonderful idea, as she does with all of her other cases.

Now the negatives:
The case has a very distinctive plastic/ glue smell. At first I thought it was my hands because I had just been gluing things in DT, but even a day later the smell is still lingering.
The design is pixalated. On the website it does say that designs will stretch depending on what case you got, but knowing that Vadasz had an iPhone 4S (like myself) I was surprised it wasn't noted anywhere.

Lastly, I have had this case on for a day and the black background has already chipped. At first I thought it was white paint, but after rubbing I realised that the colour has actually chipped off, on the first day!

The case is the same/maybe even worse quality than the one I bought for £4. It cost me £13 (£1 off when buying it on the day it's released) and I regret it; but I'll use until it's completely broken on me. Vadasz doesn't make the cases her self she orders from a supplier, but I wouldn't have continued selling them if they were this quality. She has other products such as mirrors and soon coasters which I'm sure will be better as they'll only be one size, but I'll be hesitant to buy again from her - no matter how pretty her designs her.

One finally thing, I tweeted her personal and business account about the smell and chip, but I have not received a reply.

NB: I emailed Vadasz and she's very kindly sending me a new complimentary case, instead of refunding. So i'll run this one to the ground before putting on the new one.
She also pointed out that the cases are sprayed with a special coating which should allow them to last for months and shouldn't be kept with sharp things like keys.

Song of the Week

Hey Guys,
So last week I was listening to two song constantly and they're completely different to one another, which is strange for me because It usually takes me a month to move on from a song. I'm confident you'll have heard of them, even if you aren't familiar with the title.

Tavi's Beehive Tutorial

Hey Guys,
I have been looking for some different things to do with my hair and found this two minute mini beehive tutorial on Rookie. The tutorial is by Tavi Gevinson, who is the founder of Rookie and a famous blogger. She has a very unique sense of style and this tutorial is easy to follow, it is also very funny. Here it is...

The best thing about this is it is quick and easy, also all you need is a load of bobby pins, no hairspray or any horrible products like that! I have successfully created my own beehive (using this tutorial) several times now and I love how it looks! Have fun creating your own.

January Nails

Hey Guys,
Here is our January nails post, your monthly insight into our favourite nail colours of the month just passed.

Holly
This month I have chosen the nail colour Easy Peasy from Topshop, I like this colour because it is grey, which reflects my main mood in the miserable winter month of January. Topshop nail varnish is really great quality and I would really recommend it as they have such a wide variety of colours, and a lot of matt nail varnish colours too, unfortunately it is quite expensive.

Daisy
I haven't worn any nail varnish this month because I'm trying to grow my nails and epically failing; but that doesn't mean I haven't bought any. I've come across this brand called Sinful colours, they're only £1.99 and because they were so cheap I only bought one colour to make sure they weren't naff, but I'm very impressed- and they've mimicked the OPI nail varnishes with the long black brush and China Glazes rounder base. Obviously they aren't as opaque as other varnishes but it only takes 2, maximum of 3 coats of this, and some of you may do that already.
They have a huge variety of colours but they're only found in Boots, the colour I bought was 'Mint Apple'/947. I have so many nail varnishes that colour but I just couldn't resist!

Song Of The Week

Hey Guys,
This week the song of the week is Hide & Seek by Imogen Heap. I came across this song whilst my iPod was on shuffle yesterday and had forgotten all about it. I am so pleased to have rediscovered it because it has such a unique style and sound, which I love! Admittedly the music video is weird and not very good, the song deserves a better video, oh well, hope you like the song anyway!
