Song of the Week

Hey Guys,

My chosen song this week is 'Rules' by The Hoosiers, this has been one of my favourite songs for several years, since I discovered The Hoosiers. You guys will probably know The Hoosiers by their more well known songs, such as 'Worried About Ray' or 'Goodbye Mr A'. The Hoosiers are a pop/rock band that began playing together in 2003.

This track is really upbeat and I think the lyrics are fab. My other favourite song from the same album, The Trick to Life, is Worst Case Scenario. Unfortunately, along with bands such as The 1975 and One Direction who won twice, The Hoosiers have won NME's award for Worst Band, this doesn't stop me from loving them though.

Song of the week

Hey Guys,
The song I've chosen this week is obviously 'Uptown Funk' by Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars. I don't think an explanation is needed. It's top of the charts for a reason; I just can't get the song out of my head - but the same can be said for 'Take me to church' by Hozier. And I've been loving '1989' by Taylor Swift. So this isn't really my song of the week, this is just everything I've been obsessed with recently.

Song of the Week

Hey Guys,

It has been a busy few weeks but I always try and make time to listen to new music. My Song of the Week this week is called Next of Kin by Alvvays. I discovered Alvvays looking for cool gigs nearby and I love their sound so much. They remind me a great deal of Dum Dum Girls and Vivian Girls.

I recommend the song 'Take it as it Comes' by Vivian Girls, which has a fabulous video - I feel like I may have done a Song of the Week post on it sometime last year.

F - Fei Fei Sun

Hey Guys,

My original plan was to talk about festival fashion for my F Alphabet Style post, however in the cold of mid-winter this doesn't seem quite right so I had to have a rethink. This post is a bit different and is about the Chinese model Fei Fei Sun, who turned 25 years old last March and was the first Asian model to feature on the cover of Italian Vogue.

Over here, in England, she is not so well known to a lot of people but in her home country of China she has earned supermodel status, she is the Cara Delevingne of China. I love her effortless style off the catwalk and I am going to share, with you, my favourite of her off-duty outfits.

I love the clean, modern cut of this pure white dress, it looks neat and she takes on my favourite combination (as you will know by now) of black and white. The sleek hair with a side parting, for me completes this contemporary look.
Here Sun keeps warm using layers, a shirt, a jumper and a cozy patterned cardigan; she teams her wooly clothing with typical off-duty model skinny black jeans. This is a great, comfortable, yet cool, autumn outfit.

This knitted Rodarte dress is so cute and the colours are so natural. The colours are complimented by black boots and a black bag, again she matches her accessories.
I especially love this last look, the beautiful dark greens, blues and blacks are contrasted by a bright yellow satchel, which adds fun to the outfit. The shawl/poncho she is wearing is, in my opinion, lovely and it looks so warm - I wish it was mine!

Here is a link to the rather surreal Instagirl - Fei Fei Sun video...

I hope this post has mixed the alphabet posts up a bit and I look forward to writing the next one very soon. At the moment we have a week of AS level mock exams, luckily these finish on Thursday. We wish any of you who have exams, mocks or real, the best of luck!

Song of the week

Hey Guys,
First off Holly and I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR! We're looking forward to what this year brings for our blog and to kick off the year here's the first 'Song of the Week'.

At the moment Spotify are doing an offer of having premium for 3 months for 99p - feel free to follow me at 'daisy.brazenell' -  so naturally I jumped at the opportunity; this has allowed me to experience new music/genres/artists that I've not heard of before.

I've stumble across the artists Feist. Leslie Feist - aka Feist - is a Canadian indie pop singer/songwriter, performing both as a solo artist and as a member of the indie rock group Broken Social Scene.

Linked below are a few of my favourite songs.
